New BMI credit card – the BMI Amex!

When I could have my AMEX Credit Card?

From: http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/en-gb/reward-schemes/diamond-club/diamond-club-partners/bmi-credit-card.aspx

* The Premium card now carries a bigger miles bonus – 24,000 miles instead of 20,000 miles for the basic card

* Card still run by MBNA

* Earnings rates and ‘spend £250 in 90 days’ unchanged

* Premium card comes with automatic ‘Blue Plus’ status in Diamond Club

* Fee for Premium card remains at £60

* The basic card has 0% interest for 3 months on all purchases – so no need to pay your bill for 3 months! No such benefit on the Premium card.

The key thing for those of us with the existing cards is:

a) whether we can keep them or whether MBNA will make us switch to the Amex by removing DC miles earning from the Mastercard (Joanna?)

b) whether there will be a mileage bribe for switching to the Amex, which I imagine is more lucrative for MBNA because of higher Amex merchant fees
