Simple Guide to setting up Garmin Mobile XT on S60

I find it from OrangeRoof
there is the link.http://blog.orangeroof.info/2008/08/30/simple-guide-to-setting-up-garmin-mobile-xt-on-s60/
Because there seems to be a bit of confusion about getting Garmin Mobile XT running on S60 phones I have written this guide below.
How to Download and install/upgrade Garmin Mobile XT for S60 and activate.

This information is provided as is for informatonal purposes only. I take no responsibility for any of your actions or consequences as a result of using this guide. It is for informational purposes only.
Before you begin, uninstall any version of Garmin Mobile XT you may have on your S60 device.
Installing:
1. Download the latest full international version available on this forum. Currently this is 4.20.00 and is available here.
http://www.pda4x.com/read.php?tid=75762&keyword=4.20.20
2. Place the memory card from your S60 device in a memory card reader, or connect your phone to your computer so that it appears as a removable drive on your PC. Remove any pre-existing Garmin directory, after backing up any data, maps you may wish to keep. I’d recommend a 1GB memory card as a minimum.

3. Extract the Garmin directory with all its subfolders onto the root of your memory card.
If you have a FP2 phone, see the notes below.

4. Copy the map file for your region into the root of the Garmin directory. If it is a locked map, you will need the Map ID # later. You should have got the Map ID with the map.

5. Using the file manager on your phone, navigate into the Garmin directory and run the GarminMobileXT.sis file. This will install Garmin Mobile XT on your phone.

6. Now that Garmin Mobile XT is installed, the next step is to unlock it and any locked maps you have with it. Run Garmin Mobile XT and work your way through the setup menus. Cancel any requests for a GPS unit as this will not work until you have unlocked the software.

7. Download JetMouse’s кεygεnfrom here (http://www.pda4x.com/read.php?tid=58830) and run it.Go to SETTINGS - ABOUT and copy the Card ID unto the Unit ID field. Generate a key and write this down. If you are using locked maps, do the same at the bottom with the MAP ID number of the map you are using.

8. Connect your unit as a removable drive again and open the SW.UNL file in Notepad. Paste the CARD ID unlock code in. Resave the file. If you are using locked maps, open GMAPSUPP.UNL with Notepad and paste in the map unlock code. You should now have unlocked software.

9. Start up Garmin Mobile XT and navigate to SETTINGS - SYSTEM - REMOTE GPS. You should now have the ability to change this to internal GPS if you have a handset which has this feature. Otherwise it is a matter of playing around with your Bluetooth GPS unit until you get things running. If you cannot get the GPS settings to change in GMXT, then try unlocking the software and unit again.

Notes.
If you have a FP2 phone, I would recommend running the Garmin update to Mobile XT 4.20.20 http://www.pda4x.com/read.php?tid=76102 between steps 3 and 4. You will also need to run the new installer file located at \Garmin\Apps\Symbian\res\GarminMobileXT.sis rather then the one in the root of the folder. Remember if you have a FP2 phone, it must have state a version of 4.20.20 as a minimum before you install.
Full credit goes to JetMouse and all the others who have pioneered this process before us. I have simply documented it.

Best practices for monitoring social media sites

August 18, 2008: Hoteliers need to work hard to nurture happy customers and avoid negative postings. They must monitor reviews on TripAdvisor especially, and react immediately if a negative review is posted. This articles shares some best practices on how to monitor online chatter about your hotel.

It’s common knowledge that the Internet has certainly changed how travel consumers perceive the credibility of information. Any discrepancy between “official” and “unofficial” content should be dealt with immediately. A travel supplier has to stand by its product/service, but cannot ignore the “popular vote” for its product’s quality. HeBS surveys and our own research show that consumer-generated content on social media sites and networks is perceived as more credible by online travelers. And the bigger the disparity between official and unofficial content, the bigger the gap in credibility.

So what are the most important hotel-related customer review sites? As part of a brand-defensive strategy, it’s unnecessary to monitor hundreds or thousands of review sites, but only the handful that the majority of travel reviewers’ visit. These sites are:

- TripAdvisor.com: TripAdvisor receives over 30 million visitors every month. The hotel can actively respond to any customer review via the ‘Hotel Owner’s Page’ by using the link located at the bottom of the page with customer reviews and then clicking on the ‘Respond to a Review’ link.

- Expedia.com: Expedia is the largest online travel agency (OTA). Currently the hotel can monitor all of Expedia’s customer reviews, but cannot actually respond to a review.

- Google.com: Google is the largest search engine with 60% of search traffic in the United States. Google provides a sampling of reviews for each hotel from TripAdvisor and other review sites (type in the hotel name + location, and then click on Reviews under the hotel listing). You can then visit each of the review sites and respond to an actual review there.

By monitoring reviews and comments on a weekly basis about your property on these 3 important websites, you can immediately address any issues and act appropriately. You must authorize someone specific at the property to respond to reviews (both negative and very positive).

The bottom line? Hoteliers need to work hard to nurture happy customers and avoid negative postings. They must monitor reviews on TripAdvisor especially, and react immediately if a negative review is posted. Use tools like Google Alerts and Technorati to monitor online chatter about your hotel. It’s much better to react to these postings and show your current and potential customers that you are 100% committed to serving them by addressing any and all problems, rather than sweeping complaints under the rug.

BlackBerry Bold pricing gets official with Rogers

From:http://www.gadgetell.com/tech/comment/blackberry-bold-pricing-gets-official-with-rogers/
Rogers official pricing for the BlackBerry Bold has been leaked courtesy of a promo flyer, and it comes as a little bit of good and a little bit of bad.

So, the good news is that this pricing leak combined yesterdays delivery of the super-sized promo Bold just further cements the rumored August 19 launch date.

The bad news, as you would expect is that the handset will not be as inexpensive as we had hoped. I guess we should not be all that surprised with Rogers past history, however it would have been a little nicer had it been priced a little closer to the 16GB iPhone. Instead it will be a bit higher coming in at $399.99 which comes along with the standard three year agreement.

lose yourself

Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted, one moment
Would you capture it, or just let it slip? Yo

His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti
He’s nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready
To drop bombs, but he keeps on forgettin’
What he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud
He opens his mouth, but the words won’t come out
He’s chokin’ how, everybody’s chokin’ now
The clock’s run out, time’s up, over, bloah!
Snap back to reality, oh, there goes gravity
Oh, there goes Rabbit, he choked, he’s so mad
But he won’t give up that easy, no, he won’t have it
He knows his whole back’s to these ropes
It don’t matter, he’s dope
He knows that, but he’s broke, he’s so stagnant, he knows
When he goes back to his mobile home, that’s when it’s
Back to the lab again, yo, this whole rhapsody
He better go capture this moment and hope it don’t pass him

You better lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime

You better lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime

The soul’s escaping through this hole that is gaping
This world is mine for the taking, make me king
As we move toward a new world order
A normal life is boring, but superstardom’s close to post-mortem
It only grows harder, only grows hotter
He blows us all over, these hoes is all on him
Coast to coast shows, he’s known as the globetrotter
Lonely roads, God only knows he’s grown farther from home
He’s no father, he goes home and barely knows his own daughter
But hold your nose cuz here goes the cold water
These hoes don’t want him no mo’, he’s cold product
They moved on to the next schmoe who flows
He nose dove and sold nada
So the soap opera is told and unfolds, I suppose it’s old partner
But the beat goes on da da dum da dum da da
You better lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime

You better lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime

No more games, I’ma change what you call rage
Tear this mothafuckin’ roof off like 2 dogs caged
I was playin’ in the beginnin, the mood all changed
I been chewed up and spit out and booed off stage
But I kept rhymin’ and stepwritin’ the next cypher
Best believe somebody’s payin’ the pied piper
All the pain inside amplified by the fact
That I can’t get by with my nine to five
And I can’t provide the right type of life for my family
Cuz man, these goddam food stamps don’t buy diapers
And it’s no movie, there’s no Mekhi Phifer
This is my life, and these times are so hard
And it’s getting even harder tryin’ to feed and water my seed, plus
Teetertotter caught up between bein a father and a prima donna
Baby mama drama screamin on and too much for me to wanna
Stay in one spot, another day of monotony
Has gotten me to the point I’m like a snail
I’ve got to formulate a plot or end up in jail or shot
Success is my only mothafuckin’ option, failure’s not
Mom, I love you, but this trailer’s got to go
I cannot grow old in Salem’s lot
So here I go with my shot, feet fail me not
This may be the only opportunity that I got

You better lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime

You better lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime
You can do anything you set your mind to, man
