Subarus have sported standard AWD since the 80s, well before most other automakers even bothered with the technology. That, partnered with its boxer engine, goes together like peanut butter and jelly. But the Japanese automaker has to begin worrying about fuel efficiency and emissions, so the two features that have defined the brand for decades may become optional on future models. Thankfully, it’s got Toyota to pilfer from, so the implementation of new drivetrains will be a bit easier if and when it makes the shift. Subaru of Australia Director Nick Senior broke the news of the possible switch, but he also emphasized that any changes wouldn’t be made before 2010 and that no product plans are without AWD or the boxer engine in the foreseeable future.
When I saw this news, i think i have a little suppired. why i love subaru is because his AWD and the boxer engine. but now he want to change it. wow, if he does not have those thing, why should i love her?so please don’t do that Subaru, you know that this won’t do much good to you. do not let your fans sad~~~

Word came down from Subaru today that beginning this Thursday, November 15th, it’ll be taking orders for its newest roadgoing rally rocket — coinciding with its NA debut in LA. Although pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, Subaru’s letter to dealers confirms US-spec output at 305 HP and 290 lb.-ft. of torque. Exterior color choices include Obsidian Black Pearl, Aspen White and WR Blue Mica (natch), along with three new hues: Spark Silver Metallic, Dark Gray Metallic and Lightning Red. The STI still gets 18-inch BBS aluminum-alloy wheels in either Silver or Gold, depending on the chosen exterior shade.

You Won’t be Blue this Winter.
Winter can be a lot of fun in a Subaru. The symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive system gives you the kind of traction and stability that lets you take-on almost everything the season has to offer… or throw at you. The only draw back is that your boss might know this too. Finding yourself “snowed-in” is next to impossible. Finding yourself at a ski hill is a more likely story once mother nature flexes her muscles. Now, for a limited time, we will make it even easier for you to get out and enjoy winter this year.Take advantage of a special SUBARU PRE-WINTER DEAL* offered on every new Subaru Outback, Legacy or Tribeca.

To all of you States-based Subie fans, November 15th is your day. At 10:35 AM, the new Impreza STI will supposedly make its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in U.S.-spec trim. The good news comes courtesy of an email received by a Subaru dealer and posted on NASIOC, although it’s yet to be confirmed by any of our sources at Subaru. We’ll be on hand to fondle the new STI if it does make its debut next week, so as always, watch this space.
