Change History
Changes made from version 4.xx.xx to 5.00.00:

 * Update the look and feel of the Garmin Mobile XT application.
* Add new Garmin Online feature – Google Local Search.
* Add new Garmin Online feature – Panoramio Photos.
* Add new Garmin Online feature – Flight Status.
* Add Speed Limit display to the View Map.
* Add ability to install and display custom vehicle icons.
* Modify ‘Peerpoints’ feature name to ‘Location Message’.

Installation Instructions

 1. As with any software update, you should always create a backup of the data on your device before beginning. Please see the information provided in the user manual for your device for more information.
2. To import your existing saved settings/waypoints/routes/tracks after you have updated to the latest version, you will need to export them to the SD card at this time. Select Tools->Manage My Data then select the Manage option. Select Export GPX. This will create a file on the SD card that contains all of your saved information. Select Done and Exit the application when this is complete.
3. Copy the following file from the SD card to a safe location (this file will be used to import your saved information later):
(SD card)\Garmin\GPX\CURRENT.GPX .
After copying this file, delete the file from the SD card.
4. Insert the SD card into your card reader. (Applicable for most Symbian OS devices – some Nokia phones offer ‘Data Transfer’ mode when connected to the PC and will allow the phone to act like a USB card reader
5. To begin the SD card setup, select the ‘Download’ link found on this web page.
6. Select to ‘Run’ or ‘Save’ the file. Selecting ‘Run’ will immediately launch the install program. Selecting ‘Save’, will save the file to your PC and require you to launch the install program from the saved location.
7. If you receive an error copying the files to the destination SD card, you will need to manually browse the card to remove the following two files:
(SD card)\Garmin\Apps\Symbian\res\GarminMobileXT.SIS
(SD card)\private\10202dce\GarminMobileXT_PA.SIS
Rerun the file downloaded from the link on this web page (Step 5).
8. Follow the directions provided when running the downloaded program and directions provided on the device display to complete the application update. Insert the SD card into the phone (if necessary). If the installation/update does not occur automatically upon insertion of the SD card into your device, browse to the SD card root directory and manually run the GarminMobileXT.SIS file.
9. Exit the application (if necessary). Copy the CURRENT.GPX file saved in Step 2 to SD card location: \Garmin\GPX\CURRENT.GPX
Replace the existing file on the SD card if necessary.
10. Start the application. The import of the data should happen automatically. If it does not, select Tools->Manage My Data then select the Manage option. Select Import GPX. Your saved application data should now be available.
11. You will need to keep the SD card inserted in your device for the voice, help and basemap files. This SD card can also be used to hold your detailed maps

I find it from OrangeRoof
there is the link.http://blog.orangeroof.info/2008/08/30/simple-guide-to-setting-up-garmin-mobile-xt-on-s60/
Because there seems to be a bit of confusion about getting Garmin Mobile XT running on S60 phones I have written this guide below.
How to Download and install/upgrade Garmin Mobile XT for S60 and activate.

This information is provided as is for informatonal purposes only. I take no responsibility for any of your actions or consequences as a result of using this guide. It is for informational purposes only.
Before you begin, uninstall any version of Garmin Mobile XT you may have on your S60 device.
Installing:
1. Download the latest full international version available on this forum. Currently this is 4.20.00 and is available here.

http://www.pda4x.com/read.php?tid=75762&keyword=4.20.20

2. Place the memory card from your S60 device in a memory card reader, or connect your phone to your computer so that it appears as a removable drive on your PC. Remove any pre-existing Garmin directory, after backing up any data, maps you may wish to keep. I’d recommend a 1GB memory card as a minimum.

3. Extract the Garmin directory with all its subfolders onto the root of your memory card.
If you have a FP2 phone, see the notes below.

4. Copy the map file for your region into the root of the Garmin directory. If it is a locked map, you will need the Map ID # later. You should have got the Map ID with the map.

5. Using the file manager on your phone, navigate into the Garmin directory and run the GarminMobileXT.sis file. This will install Garmin Mobile XT on your phone.

6. Now that Garmin Mobile XT is installed, the next step is to unlock it and any locked maps you have with it. Run Garmin Mobile XT and work your way through the setup menus. Cancel any requests for a GPS unit as this will not work until you have unlocked the software.

7. Download JetMouse’s кεygεnfrom here (http://www.pda4x.com/read.php?tid=58830) and run it.Go to SETTINGS – ABOUT and copy the Card ID unto the Unit ID field. Generate a key and write this down. If you are using locked maps, do the same at the bottom with the MAP ID number of the map you are using.

8. Connect your unit as a removable drive again and open the SW.UNL file in Notepad. Paste the CARD ID unlock code in. Resave the file. If you are using locked maps, open GMAPSUPP.UNL with Notepad and paste in the map unlock code. You should now have unlocked software.

9. Start up Garmin Mobile XT and navigate to SETTINGS – SYSTEM – REMOTE GPS. You should now have the ability to change this to internal GPS if you have a handset which has this feature. Otherwise it is a matter of playing around with your Bluetooth GPS unit until you get things running. If you cannot get the GPS settings to change in GMXT, then try unlocking the software and unit again.

Notes.
If you have a FP2 phone, I would recommend running the Garmin update to Mobile XT 4.20.20 http://www.pda4x.com/read.php?tid=76102 between steps 3 and 4. You will also need to run the new installer file located at \Garmin\Apps\Symbian\res\GarminMobileXT.sis rather then the one in the root of the folder. Remember if you have a FP2 phone, it must have state a version of 4.20.20 as a minimum before you install.
Full credit goes to JetMouse and all the others who have pioneered this process before us. I have simply documented it.
